Bages is a comarca (county) in the center of Catalonia, Spain. It includes two subcomarques, el Moianès and el Lluçanès.
Industries include the mining of potash at Súria and Sallent, and the manufacture of textiles along the rivers Llobregat and Cardener. Agriculture includes vineyards, cereals, and olive groves.
To the north are Berguedà and (running clockwise) Osona, Vallès Oriental and Vallès Occidental. To the south are Baix Llobregat, l'Anoia and el Solsonès.

In the hinterland, the eastern sector of the central Catalan depression, known as the "heart of Catalonia" because of its central location. The Llobregat (north-south) and Cardener rivers form the so-called Pla de Bages , surrounded by hills and plateaux: Sant Llorenç del Munt and Obac sierras and the Montserrat massif (S), both natural parks, Rubió and Castelltallat sierras (E), Moianès plateaux (NW) and Les Garrigues sierra (NE). In the Middle Ages, the territory formed the so-called county of Manresa (western sector of the county of Osona), within the diocese of Vic, with important ecclesiastical (Montserrat, Sant Benet de Bagers, L'Estany, etc.) and civil (Cardona) domains. In the 19th century, farming and stock-breeding, complemented by the activities of the weavers and tanners, gave way to a thrusting industrialisation (textiles on the banks of the Llobregat and Cardener, mines). There is little tourist infrastructure, but visitors come to see the rich architectural heritage and enjoy excursions and sports.
